Types of Laser Cutting

There is a wide range of laser cutting techniques, depending on the material you want to cut or engrave:

  • CO2 Laser Cutting
  • Fiber Laser Cutting

Our facility specializes in CO2 laser cutting, which uses a lens to concentrate CO2 laser beams on the material surface.

Our Facility Capabilities

Our facility’s precise laser-cutting CO2 machines use 4,400 kW of power and offers features like flying optics, which enable the laser beam to be guided to the material by an x- and y-axis) and to cut at 2, 3, and 5 axes.

Work pieces can be up to 96” X 240″

Exceptional control of power and speed enables our machines to deliver tolerances of plus/minus 0.002. This applies from very thin sheets to material up to 1” thick.

The kerf, or amount of material, the laser removes when cutting varies according to the material and the laser beam’s width (tolerance). All the machines we use have exceptionally fine tolerance to achieve great precision in cutting, even down to the smallest dimensions.

With your chosen material, we can configure the laser to cut your artwork at any power, speed, and frequency. We use these adjustments to fit your specific material and create functional, beautiful items.

Some industries that regularly utilize laser cutting include:

  • Aerospace
  • Automotive
  • Dental
  • Electronics
  • Jewelry
  • Medical
  • Solar

Our Material Capabilities

Our laser cutting machines handle non-ferrous and ferrous metals, including:

  • Aluminum
  • Inconel®
  • Monel
  • Several types of steel and stainless steel

The materials come in the form of heavy pipe, plate, and almost any shape that can fit in our work envelope.

In addition to metals, we work with materials such as:

  • Ceramic
  • Acrylic
  • Rubber
  • Plastic
  • Wood
  • Paperboard
  • Paper
